The boys basketball team advances to the second round of the playoffs and will be playing a home game against Summit Academy Charter School on Tuesday, March 5th at 5PM. Students who wish to spectate must be attend all classes and wear the school uniform. Go Generals!

Today, March 4th, is a short Monday. Students will be dismissed at 1:30PM. Teachers and staff will be attending Department meetings. Ten (10) more days before the end of the marking period.


On March 1st, GLHS will celebrate Black History Month. Black History Month Celebration is from February 1st to March 1st, 2024. Students and staff can join the celebration by wearing the Black History Month Celebration pins and stickers created by GLHS Media, which will be available in the lobby entrance (while supply lasts). Students are also invited to join Ms. Hepner's Racial and Gender Equity Through Film.

Today, February 29th, is the Parent Association Assembly from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Parents will get to participate in fitness activities such as Yoga and Zumba which will be lead by DRIP Founder Janice Rodriguez.


GLHS is celebrating Respect for All Week and "Nobody Eats Alone Day". We encourage all Generals (students and staff) to make sure that nobody eats alone during all Lunch Periods today. "Kindness is free to give and priceless to receive" - Raktivist

Congratulations to the GLHS Ethics Bowl Team for placing 2nd Runner up in the Ethics Bowl Competition held on Saturday, February 3rd. We are proud of you, Go Generals!

Tomorrow, January 30th, is the first day of the Second Semester. All students must come to school at 8:00AM and attend Homeroom period. Tomorrow is DOLLAR DAY for all students and parents! There is no school so attendance is not mandatory, but participation is encouraged. Students who wish to participate may come to school without the school uniform/dressed down day. Bring school IDs and cash in order to play games, buys food, and win prizes. Proceeds will go to the Senior Class. This event will start at 11AM and ends at 5PM and it is sponsored by the Senior Council and Parent Association. We hope to see you!

Tomorrow, January 22nd, is the last regular day of the first semester. Tuesday, January, 23rd, is the start of the Regents Week with ELA starting at 9:15AM. See the Regents Schedule below. All 9th and 10th grade students are scheduled to take the MAP Growth Reading assessment on Wednesday, Jan. 24th @11:30AM to 1:00PM, and then the MAP Growth Math assessment on Thursday, Jan. 25th @11:30AM to 1:00PM. Students who are taking the Mock AP Exam and selected students taking the English Mock, please proceed to room 103. The mock begins at 9AM. Good luck!

Happy Martin Luther King Jr Day! All students are expected back to school tomorrow, regular schedule. The Parent Association Assembly tomorrow is at 6:00PM. And the Boys Basketball Home Game vs. City College is at 4:30PM in the gym. Six more days before the ELA Regents!

Please come and support the Boys Basketball JV Team has a scrimmage today versus Chelsea Career And Technical Education in the gym. However, students with detention will not be able to spectate the game. Also, the Algebra I Mock-Regents is happening right now, please attend.
