Today is the last day of school for 2024 and Shortened Period . Please see the schedule below. All students may participate in the Holiday Colors Day. The last period will be dismissed at 2:50PM, there will be no after school activities.
There will be a Make-A-Thon Engineering Event today in the gym after 4th period. All are welcome .
The Boys Basketball Team will have an away game versus City College Academy of the Arts at 4:30PM.

The Bio Bus is in school today to provide a fun learning experience for our students during their science classes.
The Seniors, Cohort 2025, is celebrating the holidays with a Pajama Day and Holiday Party. This event is for SENIORS ONLY. All Seniors are expected to go to their 1st to 4th period class before participating.
Select students in the Orchestra Honors class are with Mr. Vasquez preparing for a concert tonight at 7PM at Aaron Davis Hall-City College. Admission is for free.
There will be no after school activities today.
Today, December 19th, is a regular school day with Seniors celebrating their PAJAMA Day and Holiday Party. Please see the attached schedule of events for SENIORS ONLY. SENIORS with periods 1 to 4 must attend their classes. All other grade levels continue with the regular schedule. There will be no after school program.
Tomorrow, December 20th, will be a short schedule with classes starting at 8:00AM and last period ends at 2:50PM. There will be no after school program.
All students are expected to come back on January 2nd, regular schedule.
Hello Luperon Family! FYI will host their dance club with Ms. Mary in the cafeteria at 4pm. Ms. Paola will host boys group in room C12 at 4pm. All students are invited to participate in the Gingerbread House Competition tomorrow, Tuesday, December 17th in the cafeteria at 4PM. There will be prizes for the top 4 groups. FYI will also host a Christmas Frame Decoration activity on Friday, December 20th in the library during periods 4-8! Participants will be served hot cocoa and bread, see you there!
The following messages are for SENIORS ONLY: We apologize for the last minute changes on the Color Day Dinner! This is the final change! Seniors will host a Christmas Pajamas Day and dinner this Thursday, December 19th! Seniors will also meet on Thursday in Room 103 during periods 5-10! Color day participants will be charged $3 upon entry. The dinner is completely free, please attend! We will raffle gift cards, play games, and take many photos. The Social Studies Department will be taking several students to a trip to Washington DC. today, December 13th. The bus will leave at 8:00AM.

3- SYRUX, the 2025–26 Financial Aid Form is Now Available for post-secondary planning. This means we can finally help you apply to get FREE MONEY for college. As usual, support will continue to take place in Room 302 during the 9th Period (AT 2:23pm) to 6:00pm. You need to report to Room 302 to complete the corresponding financial aid forms and/or to finish submitting your college applications. We will continue doing this alphabetically by last name. Please follow specific dates and instructions on Google Classroom and WhatsApp to know when you are expected to show up based on the day your last name is scheduled. Students whose last name starts with the letters P through R will continue TODAY! Don’t forget: Time is of the essence! THE FIRST 100 STUDENTS WHO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE BOTH THE COLLEGE APPLICATIONS AND FINANCIAL AID FORMS WILL RECEIVE A SPECIAL GIFT.

There will be a vision screening event today, Monday, December 9th, for all GLHS students during PE classes. GLHS Parent(s)/guardian(s) who do not wish their child to participate must return the opt-out letter to the school, otherwise, all current student will be screened for vision by the Hellen Keller Institute. Students who are not scheduled for PE and/or miss the screening may participate on Tuesday, December 10th, during their lunch period.

The WHOLE SCHOOL will have a Thanksgiving Color Day on Wednesday, November 27th. All students are encouraged to participate to in this event. Our Senior Council will charge all participants $1 in CASH at the door to help raise funds for the Senior Council. The students will follow a regular schedule and there will be no afterschool activities, except for PSAL Practice.
