Come out to support our Robotics Engineers at their first FTC Qualifying competition this Saturday 11/18. The competition will be at CTEA High School - 94-06 104th St in Ozone Park, NY - Things will kick off around 11am with things heating up for the final elimination rounds around 3pm.


Today is the Parent-Teacher Conference. There will be two sessions: 1:00PM to 2:50PM and 5:00PM to 7:30PM. Parents can come in person or meet with the teachers virtually. Come and support the girls Volleyball Team today as they play against The Clinton School for the quarterfinals at 5PM in the gym. The team has to win in order to advance to the semifinals. Go Generals!

The Boys Basketball Schedule for PSAL games is now online. The rosters will be uploaded soon! Student-athletes must attend all classes in order to participate in all practices and games. Good luck this season, Generals!

NYC Council Member Carmen De La Rosa of the 10th District visited the school on Friday, October 13th. During the visit, she graciously donated $150,000.00 for upgrades in the school's library. Thank you so much, Council member De La Rosa!

Cohort 2024 is promoting Breast Cancer Awareness. On Monday, October 16th, Seniors may come to school dressed down in pink and contribute $3. No crocs and no sandals, please follow the dress code. This event is strictly for Seniors only. (Poster Credit: Roselys De Jesus).


Join the Breast Cancer Walk on Sunday, October 15th, from 8AM to 12NN in Central Park. Participants can receive Community Service Hours for participation and must arrive at GLHS on or before 7:30PM on Sunday. Get your permission slip from FYI in Room 118.

The Girls Volleyball Team won their second straight home game of the 2023-2024 Season versus High School for Climate Change. Alisha Perez, Ayleenee Salbitani and Noemi Dela Rosa made great contributions to this win with their aces and service points. Teachers and staff, students, and alumni were there to support the team. Boys Baseball Tryout at Highbridge Park (171st Street and Amsterdam Ave.) tomorrow, September 19th, at 4PM. Students must attend all classes in order to tryout. Please speak with Mr. Olivo or Mr. Vinny for more information.

This years Seniors, Class of 2024, will be celebrating the Hispanic Heritage Month on September 29th. Seniors will be able to come to school wearing their respective national flag colors for a fee of $3.00. Just to be clear, crocs and flip flops are not considered part of this dress code. It's so wonderful to welcome our students back to school yesterday and today! Starting on Monday, September 11th, all students who want to return the Blue Cards and would like to get a locker, please see Ms. Birch any day from 7:30AM to 2:30PM in main office and during 5th period in the cafeteria. Students have to submit the Blue Card first before getting a locker.
